Balls to you, Lionel Shriver
I have a lot of affection for the British. But why on earth do you have to be so petty about, well, absolutely everything?

Where is the comments box that allows me to hurl a tirade of abusive language at Lionel Shriver? Where is my opportunity to scream that we’re not all petty minded, officious and politically correct, and that most sane people find what she is writing about just as abhorrent as she does? What’s even more annoying, she says in her article, “I’m paid to spell it out”. That’s great. She’s being paid to produce this shite, I’m claiming dole and I could rattle just that sort of thing off all day for the Grauniad. In fact, any one of thousands could.
If Lionel Shriver’s article is representative of the kind of thing we can expect from The Guardian’s new Comment is Free blog site, thanks but no thanks, I’ll stick with the Huffington Post. The irony of it is that Comment is Free was set up in an attempt to emulate the success of the Huffington Post as a left-leaning talking point for bloggers and non-bloggers alike – but that now, it seems, Comment is Free has been hijacked before it even started by smug bints like Shriver, who are using the site as a platform to condescend to the British on their own doorstep, and bitch about living in London and how hard it is. Try talking to someone who gives a dingo’s kidney, Lionel. We’ve all got problems.
